State of Vermont Business Income Tax Extensions – Tax Year 2009

E-file a federal business tax extension with FileLater.

 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
The State of Vermont will automatically grant your business a tax extension 30 days beyond the federal extension date (September 15 for corporations, October 15 for all other business types) if you have successfully filed a federal tax extension and have no tax balance due. If, however, you need to make a state tax payment, you need to submit Vermont business extension Form BA-403 (PDF).

If you do not need to make a state tax payment and have received an approval notification from FileLater, there’s nothing more to do. Be sure to attach a copy of your tax extension form to your state tax return when filed.

Filing for a Vermont tax extension will not provide you with additional time to pay any tax balance due. Any tax due and unpaid by the original due
date will bear interest at the statutory rate, and a penalty of 1% or 5% per month, up to a maximum of 25%. Returns filed after the due date without an authorized.

extension are subject to a late filing fee. For additional information, please visit the State of Vermont Department of Taxes website.
