State of Utah Personal Income Tax Extensions – Tax Year 2011
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS |
|
The State of Utah will automatically grant you a 6-month tax extension. However, if you need to make a state tax payment you need to submit Utah Form TC-546 (PDF) . If you do not need to make a tax payment and have received an approval notification from FileLater, there’s nothing more to do. You automatically have a 6-month extension to file your Utah income tax return - not to pay your taxes. If your tax payments do not equal at least the lesser of 90% of your current year tax liability (or 100% of your previous year tax liability) a penalty of 2% of the unpaid tax will be assessed for each month of the extension period. For additional information, please visit the State of Utah Tax Commission website.
