Georgia
State of Georgia Personal Income Tax Extensions – Tax Year 2011
| GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS |
|
Calendar year taxpayers are required to file on or before April 17, 2012. Fiscal year taxpayers must file on or before the 15th day of the foruth month after the close of their taxable year. Requesting an Extension You can have an automatic six-month extension to file your Georgia return when you receive an extension to file your Federal return. The Georgia return must be filed along with a copy of Federal Form 4868 or the IRS confirmation letter on or before the extended Federal due date. If you do not need a Federal extension, you may use Georgia Form IT-303 to request an extension to file your Georgia return. An extension to file does not extend the date for paying the tax. Tax must be paid with Form IT-303 by the statutory due date to avoid late payment penalty and interest.
