State of Ohio Business Income Tax Extensions – Tax Year 2009

E-file an IRS business tax extension with FileLater.

 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
The State of Ohio will automatically grant your business a 6 month tax extension (5 months for partnerships and LLCs) if it is approved for a federal tax extension. If, however, you need to make a state tax payment then you need to submit Ohio tax payment voucher.

If your business does not need to make a tax payment and has received an approval notification from FileLater, there’s nothing more to do.

Ohio does not offer state tax extensions if a federal extension was not granted. Be sure to attach a copy of your federal extension form (IRS 7004) to you state tax return when filed.

Filing for an Ohio tax extension will not provide your business with additional time to pay any tax balance due, which must be paid by your original filing deadline or interest and other payment penalties may apply.

For additional information, please visit the State of Ohio Department of Taxation website.
