NOTE: Arizona’s filing deadline for 2010 (calendar year) tax returns falls on April 18, 2011 this year, because April 15th is a legal holiday in Washington, DC.
2. If you have successfully applied for a federal income tax extension ― using IRS Tax Form 4868 (Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File U.S. Individual Income Tax Return) ― you will automatically be granted a state income tax extension for your Arizona return. If you do not need to make a 2010 tax payment and you have received confirmation that your federal extension request was approved, there is nothing else you need to do. On the other hand, if you owe tax, you can make a payment electronically on the Arizona Department of Revenue website, or submit your tax payment with Form 204 (Application for Filing Extension) and mail it to: |

To request a state income tax extension ― if you have not applied (and been approved) for a federal tax extension ― fill out and submit Arizona Form 204 (Application for Filing Extension) to the Arizona Department of Revenue by the original due date of your 2010 tax return, which is April 18, 2011 for calendar year filers.
